The Wallace Institute for Alternative Agriculture

The Henry A. Wallace Institute for Alternative Agriculture is a national nonprofit research and educational organization that works on policies that reform agricultural and food systems. I consulted with the Wallace Institute on the Agriculture Policy Project, a 5-year initiative in which citizen input is gathered from sessions around the country to define future alternative agriculture policy directions. I assisted Wallace Institute in the Soft Systems group facilitation process designed promote system thinking with groups. I also facilitated a number of sessions around the country.

The Green Land Company

GLC is a land holding company that assists community gardeners permanently acquire their garden land. I was a founding member of GLC, assisted in its design and development with community gardeners and the SRC Board, and was a founding board member and chaired it for two years.

European Sustainability Tour

A series of concurrent tours of six European Countries were organized to study successful sustainable agriculture marketing efforts in Europe. Eighty people participated from a eight countries around the world. A conference followed in the Netherlands to compare tours and to assess lessons learned. I participated in the United Kingdom tour, facilitated sessions at the Symposium and prepared the synthesis of the small-group work as part of the final report of this project.

Coalition for a Clean Minnesota River

CCMR is a nonprofit environmental organization that organizes citizens to become active in the western and central Minnesota River watershed. I designed and facilitated strategic planning sessions with the Board of Directors
